A Denver building scheduled for a Saturday morning implosion will shut down Colorado Boulevard with several detours in place.

The old eight-story Biomedical Research Building at East Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard will be demolished at 8 a.m. Saturday, triggering up to nine hours of road closures.

Colorado Boulevard and streets surrounding the building will be closed starting at 3 a.m. Saturday and likely won’t reopen until noon. Authorities handling the event are asking the public to stay home and watch the collapse on the news.
